Timi
Timi Dakolo, born in Accra, Ghana to a Nigerian father and a Ghanaian mother but raised by his grandmother, is a singer and song writer. He is the winner of the first season of Idols West Africa (2007) who beat runner-up, Omawumi Megbele getting 63 per cent of the votes to clinch the ultimate price
With his victory, he took home many prizes including a recording contract with Sony BMG.
Timi Dakolo released his first single comprising three songs in October 2009. In 2011, he released the song “There’s a Cry”, "Heaven Please" from his album Beautiful Noise,
In 2012, he released the hit single Great Nation and Iyawo Mi in 2014. He has earned international recognition due to his songs genre. His awards include; Hip-Hop Awards for the Best Recording of the year 2010.
Timi is currently married to Busola Amupitan, their marriage is blessed with three beautiful kids(a boy and 2 girls).

Darey

Dare Art Alade, as the name sounds is the son of the renowned Nigerian entertainer, Art Alade, he is a Nigerian singer, song writer and Idols series judge. 

He is one of the Nigerian Musicians who studied music in the higher institution, he was born in Lagos. He is the first Nigerian celebrity to rise to fame through reality TV shows.

He became famous after he participated at the 2004 edition of Project Fame Academy and emerged third in the contest. 

Darey’s career is not just limited to music alone; he has over the past decade been a disc jockey, TV presenter, entertainment consultant, voice-over artiste and performing/recording artist and event host.

Chidimma Ekile
Chidinma also know as 'Miss Kedike' is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, recording artist and stage performer. She is of eastern Nigeria descent and the fifth of six siblings
She grew up under strict Christian parents and became very involved in the church choir from a tender age of ten. She attended primary and secondary schools in Ketu, Lagos.
She rose to stardom after winning the third season of MTN Project Fame West Africa in 2010. Her first single is titled “Jankoliko” featuring Nigerian music veteran Sound Sultan. Her consistency has continued with songs like "Oh Baby", "Emi Ni Baller"  among others. Due to the release of her music video "Emi Ni Baller" single,  she became the first female musician to peak at number 1 on the MTV Base Official Naija Top 10
Miss Kedike in 2012 won the Best Female West African Act category at the 2012 Kora Awards where she performed "Kedike"

O.C. Ukeje was born on 15th of July 1981; he's a film actor, a model and a Musician who came into prominence after he emerged from a reality TV Show.

Ukeje’s  career in acting started from his first year at the University of Lagos, where he played a lead role in a stage play. For four years, he was a stage actor before attempting and winning the reality TV show for actors, Amstel Malta Box Office (AMBO).

He has received several awards including; African Movie Academy Awards, African Magic Viewers Choice Awards, Nollywood Movies Award, Best of Nollywoods Awards, Nigeria Entertainment Awards and Golden Icons Academy Movies Award. He has featured in many award winning films including Two Brides and a Baby, Hoodrush, Alan Poza , Confusion Na Wa and Half of a Yellow Sun,

O.C lives in Lagos, Nigeria. He is married to Senami Ibukunoluwa.

Geofrey Orji 

Geofrey Oji known as Geofrey is a Nigerian singer and song writer who gained popularity through his participation at the MTN Project Fame West Africa Season 7, where he out shined five other finalists with his final performance of Asa’s song, beautiful gate and became the seventh winner of the popular reality TV show after years of constantly auditioning for the show.

Currently, Geoffrey is under a management deal with 960 Music Group courtesy of partnership between 960 group and Ultima Production.

His debut single “ Bursting my Brain” was  released on 30th January 2015.

Gospel Sensation: Mike Oluaje

Mike Oluaje (Ajetunmobi Michael Temidayo) is a Fast Rising Gospel Artist and a Gospel Music Minister whose passion for music started in his adolescent stage.
He was groomed by the influence of his step-brother who is musically oriented. Since then, he has made good use of every given opportunities and has ministered in several churches.
His ability as a good vocalist was discovered by his church choir master when he was given an opportunity to lead a song in his church in 1999. Since then Mike has been breaking grounds.

SUNDAY REGRET!!!

I go one church celebrating their harvest today at Ipaja, the program has already spent 3hrs and they have not gotten to item nos 7(menu menu) and I was very hungry. Suddenly one small boy run inside the church to meet his mum and told his mum that they have started given food. He showed his mum the food they gave him. I stretched my long neck and saw a very big meat. I junmped up and went to the children department.
I sat and sang with them, as they continue to share the food, one of the children teacher sharing the food was my student long tym ago. As the idiot saw me he just prostrated.... And asked all the children to welcome me and also tell them to hug me. He even told them that I will give them money. As I hear that one, I excuse myself sharp sharp to the toilet, from there I ran away.

I got to the bus/stop entered bus going to Oshodi, the don waka smalll so the conductor begin dey collect money, I check my pocket and I found only papers instead of money. Na so I remember sey the reason why dem send that idiot comot for school na becos sey he dey pick pocket.... I still dey Oshodi now dey wash all the buses wey the Agbero tell me to wash becos I wan act smart...

Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk is a singer and songwriter. He is a performer whose styles and unique attributes differentiated him from other participants of the 2008 MTN Project Fame West Africa
Iyanya became the winner of 2008 MTN Project Fame West Africa.
 He is the co-owner of Made Men Music Group, a record label home to artists such as Emma Nyra, Tekno, Selebobo and Baci.
 Iyanya is an Efik whose style of music is in both Efik and English. He released his debut studio album, My Story, in 2011, supported by the singles like; “No Time” and “Love Truly”. Iyanya vs. Desire, his second studio album, contained the singles Kukere, Ur Waist, Flavour, Sexy Mama, and Jombolo. He won the Artist of the Year award at the 2013.

Tonto Charity Dikeh, popularly known as Tonto Dike is an indigene of Rivers State whose talent made waves for right in the house.

Popularly known as Uti , he was born on August 3, 1982. He is one Nigerian celebrity who has participated in multiple reality TV shows.

Firstly he participated at the celebrated Next Movie Star before contesting at the highly watched Big Brother Africa reality TV show in 2008. Uti , since then has become a celebrity as he co-hosts Jara , the popular African Magic programme. He is becoming a major events host across all sectors in Nigeria.

Omawumi

Omawumi Megbele, born on the 13th of April 1982 is a Nigerian singer-songwriter. She graduated from Ambrose Ali University with a Law degree.

Her super talent in music got her a life time opportunity and an award and as the 2007 runner-up on West African Idols, her sophomore album, The Lasso of Truth, was announced to be a commercial success in Nigeria. Her singles such as Megeble, If U Ask Me, have made serious waves through the media.

Her acting career started when she played a minor role in the 2009 edition of the V-Monologues, a play that reflects the negative issues affecting women in Nigeria. She also starred in the musical play Olurombi. And also had a minor role in the movie Inale. In 2011, she starred in Return of Jenifa, then House of Gold (2013).

Amarachi Uyanne

Amarachi Uyanne is the winner of the 1st edition of Nigeria’s Got Talent. She was born on July 17, 2004. Her extraordinary dance skills gave her an edge over other participants. she became Nigeria’s youngest millionaire after winning the Reality show competition in 2012.

She started her career in the music industry with her 1st single Amarachi’s Dance, a song that gave her a lift and put her name ringing into the mind of Nigerians.

Mc Makopolo's world

Mbam Uche Henry popularly known as Mc makopolo is a spectacular Nigerian comedian, show host, radio presenter, director, producer, actor, writer, and an all round entertainer . He has featured in many comedy shows, TV programmes, and most recently, the star of the reality TV series Pulse TV Pranks which has given him international recognition.

Mc Makopolo is an indigene of Ebonyi State who bagged his university degree from one of Nigerian prestigious university, University of Agricultural Science, Makurdi where he studied Agricultural and Environmental Engineering. 

Work wise, Mc makopolo started out early as news correspondent in harvest FM makurdi and then became a radio presenter at radio benue in 2009. He also worked as a script writer for a TV series "real life" which never made it to air. He later went on to set up his own production team in September 2011. 

His comedy career started in April 2007 when he featured as a guest host for them, ‘Gospel laughter night in 2007’. He has featured in so many shows and has anchored over 300 classic and reputable weddings of important personalities in Nigeria. He is the content producer of his current TV series Pulse TV Pranks which has become one of the most sorts after shows on the Internet.  He is also known for Vox pop, TV totally you, and also double as a Vj for Pulse.

His hunger to put smile into the faces of Nigerians, won him the following awards; Comedian of the year at the Crock city People Awards and the Benue Profile Awards. He has also won Best Youth Comedian at the Standup Comedians Award, and also best comedian UAM 2011 to 2013 continuously.

Making Waves: PATORANKING

Presently making waves in the Nigerian Entertainment scene is Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, popularly known by his stage name Patoranking. Patoranking is a stage name given to Patrick Nnaemeka by a Jamaican artist whom he met at Alpha Beach in Lagos.
This Lagos based indigene of Ebonyi State started his musical career with underground collaborations which he did with artists such as Slam, Reggie Rockstone, Konga and XProject.
Patrick under 'Dem Mama Records' became a personality to be reckoned with after a collaboration with Timaya on his song "Alubarika”, which he ended when he  signed a record deal with Foston Musik in early 2014 and released "Girlie O", which was produced by WizzyPro, a song that stole the heart of so many and brought him to lime light.
At the 2014 edition of the Headies, Patoranking stole the event winning three awards with one of them earning him the much coveted Car prize of the night. On 9th of February 2015, Patrick brought to the notice of his fans via Instagram that he signed a distribution deal with VP Records.
And since then, it can be said loudly that this Nigerian artist has been prospering in his musical career.
To seal it up, Patoranking is one of the nominees of MTV Base 2015 AMA Award under the “Best New Act Transformed by Absolute”, among other personalities such as; Anna Joyce(Angola), K. O (South Africa), Duncan (South Africa) and Stonebwoy (Ghana). Patoranking was successful on the award night as the star of the 'Best New Act' Award.

 Whether or not you care about fashion, you make a conscious decision every day of what you wear, and what clothes you buy. You may want to tell the world you don't care about fashion by wearing a simple t-shirt and jeans, but you cared enough to give it some thought. Fashion is a powerful instrument people have used for hundreds of years to assimilate to tribes, or differentiate or even express themselves in the society.
 You can be a politician, teacher, or a nurse but you care about what you wear. There is a believe that the fashion stigma comes from the commercial/retail side of the fashion industry. There's cultural significance, and a means of artistic expression that everyone forgets about fashion.
This is to say that in most cases fashion can depict one’s culture or profession.
 Fashion gives an individual the ability to be creative in a very stylish manner. Most people questions fashion’s possibility to improve one’s creativity. Every morning you get up and get dressed, you already put your sense into work by making the appropriate and creative decision on what you wearing.
You need to cultivate a style that portrays your mindset and future career goals. This can be difficult, as the world of fashion can be overwhelming. Nonetheless, you should cultivate a style of your own. “Fashion is the buffet, but style is what you put on your plate”. Crafting a unique style is a process. It doesn’t come overnight. And it may also change as you go through life.
So, no matter how beautiful you want to appear, try as much as possible to avoid making unnecessary mistakes in our combination. And don’t forget, you never get a second chance to make a good first impression, you would be addressed base on the way you dress.

Celebration of an ICON

Today, we celebrate a legend in the acting and comedy world , Afeez Oyetoro  popularly known as  Simply Saka. A man whose presence in the entertainment industry has been a source of strength and encouragement to many.
As history reveals, Saka is not one out of the many who would say they just found themselves in the industry without having background knowledge of what the entertainment industry holds for Nigerians.
This indigene of Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State was born in early 1963, he obtained his Bachelor and Master of Art degree in Theatre art from Obafemi Awolowo University and the University of Ibadan respectively.
Currently, Afeez Oyetoro is a lecturer in the department of theatre art at Adeniran Ogunsanya Colledge of Education, Lagos. He’s known for his comic role in Nollywood films where he has featured in several television soaps and films.
He has become more famous for his clown roles and advertisement appearances for Etisalat and more recently MTN (as an Ambassador)

Nigerian Turned American Artist

It is certain that most Nigerians who claim to be glued to foreign movies and comedies do not know who truly Godfrey C. Danchimah Jr is. It may interest you to know that Godfrey as fondly called by fans is an American – Nigerian whose parents migrated to the USA from Nigeria to escape the Nigerian Civil War.
Godfrey was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on July 21, 1969 soon after the family settled in Chicago where Godfrey grew up. He attended Lane Technical College Preparatory High School and received an academic scholarship to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he majored in Psychology.
He made the varsity football team, where he performed at a traditional talent show for new team members. He stole the show performing to the impressions of his coaches and teammates and thereafter discovered his comedic talent.
This dark skin artist honed his stand-up skills at the All Jokes Aside comedy club in Chicago in the early 90's. In 1995, Godfrey made his New York debut at Carolines on Broadway and the Comic Strip Live and was soon signed by the William Morris Talent Agency. He began working regularly in television; first behind the cameras as a warm-up comedian for The Bill Cosby Show and Soul Man. His first on-camera appearance featured him performing stand-up comedy for NBC's Friday Night Videos, followed by more small television and film roles. In 2000, Godfrey appeared in the Aspen Comedy Festival and on Comedy Central's Premium Blend. He also played a comical role in the movie Soul Plane, acting as an African pilot. He has also been in numerous episodes of BET's Comic View

This American – Nigerian has appeared on  VH1, Comedy Central, and feature films, such as Soul Plane, Original Gangstas, Zoolander and Johnson Family Vacation.  He was a cast member of  a reality TV show “The It Factor”. He was also a spokesperson for 7Up during the popular '7up yours' advertising campaign.

Currently, he is a regular performer at the comedy club Comedy Cellar in New York City. He is also known for doing the voices of Mr. Stubborn and Mr. Tall (Season 2) in The Mr. Men Show and hosting the FOX game show Bullseye.

Good Time for Akpororo

Who would ever have imagined what 2015 had in the cloud for one of Nigeria’s fastest rising comedian, Akpororo. It all started with the inclusion of his name as an ambassador of a Telecommunication giant, Airtel Nigeria. Among other important personalities who were tagged   ‘Smart Icons’ are TuFace Idibia, Rap artiste Phyno, Raggae dancehall singer, Patoranking, and wave-making on-air-personality, IK Osakioduwa. The brand ambassadors were unveiled to the public at a star-studded event dubbed, ‘The Icon’ held on June 11 at MUSON Centre in Onikan, Lagos. Speaking at the occasion, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Nigeria, Mr. Segun Ogunsanya revealed that the comedian’s strong working ethic and his passion for comedy has endeared him  success and to a large number of fans

Just few hours ago, the Airtel Ambassador has again surprised his fans by announcing the arrival of a Range  Rover SUV which he just added to his land groves. This is coming as his fans are in anticipation of the second Edition of his Annual Event ‘Akpororo vs Akpororo’, which has been scheduled to hold the on 19th July, 2015

SIGNING UNDER MAVIN WOULD TAKE ME FAR

Not everyone knows that this graduate of Unilag; Godwin Caleb Tochukwu with stage name
CaOne aka (Omo pastor) is an upcoming artiste who specialises in the genre of Afro/Rap Hip Hop and he longs to be signed into Mavin Record Label. He openly confessed this during an interview section with Comedy+.

Starting his career at an early stage were he featured Obesere (the fuji icon) on a track titled FARAYA in 2007; he gradually grew to become a name to reckon with amongst students in Unilag especially when he dropped a single LOWKEY ft Tonytotch and Fweshie Oloye in 2010. Omo Pastor has Been on different platforms (Lyynks and Friends, Coke studio, Etisalat fest n jamz, Open Mic etc) where he performed alongside top acts in the Nigerian Entertainment Industry and presently, he's working on new singles titled KOWOPE and MO FOH  which are for sure club bangers.
This Afro/HipHop act under S4 Synergy Management  is definitely set to take over and leave his footprint on the sand of time in the Entertainment world.

Your aka 'Omo pastor', what is the secret behind it?

It is just normal, my dad is a pastor but I choose my own career

And your parent sees nothing wrong with you being a circular artist instead of gospel?

Well..I was once a gospel artiste and I guess am still one..cuz I got a gospel single and which would be included in my album. It wasn't  easy for me at 1st cuz they weren't In support but along the line they allowed me since it's  where am professional in.

A second glance at your profile reveals that you are a  science student, what inspired you into going into music?

Had I known I would not have gone into science. I discovered my passion for music took the better part of me When I was in high school

What are the steps you've taken to promote yourself and your music, do you have a manager or sponsors?

Yeah! I  have worked with couple of event managers, label boss and Mr Ayodeji the manager to orezi who happens to be my  manager presently.

If you are given the opportunity to choose a record label to be signed into, which would you prefer?

Well I don't mind being in Mavin; signing under Mavin would take me far


You said you would prefer Mavin Record Label, What step have you made concerning this?
We are working towards getting signed. Its doesn't necessarily have to be Mavin, but any label that's capable  of handling my project.

where do you see yourself in 10 years time?

An international brand, probably signing upcoming artist by then.

As an upcoming  artist, what are the challenges you are going through?

Well basically in Nigeria every business requires capital or someone to sponsor your ideas of which music is one. Over here most people are skeptical about sponsoring or investing in music and that's a major challenge for every upcoming act

What  Should we expect from you in few days to come?

Well am dropping a couple of singles and unfailingly a video before this year runs out.
