Steve Onu, known as Yaw is known for his pidgin comics. He is an actor, comedian, an all round entertainer and an on-air-personlity on WAZOBIA FM 95.1.
Yaw is a graduate of the Lagos State University with a diploma in Radio, TV, and film production from the English department and a degree in Theatre Arts.
He has participated in over fifty stage productions both in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, and has had the opportunity of working with prominent directors such as Ahmed Yerima, Binda Ngazolo, Dr. Sola Fosudo and Ben Tomoloju.
Onu, has won seven awards as the best on air personality since he joined in 2007.
Just recently he was opportuned to make an appearance on CNN. where he was interviewed on his life, work and role in the developing entertainment industry in Nigeria.
Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as freeze is a classic and sophisticated on air personality. He is currently the host of the Road show Cool FM’s evening Drive Show which holds between 4pm and 9pm.
Freeze is an indigene of Osun State, though not full blooded Nigerian. On his mother’s side, he hails from Transylvania, Romania.
As his biography reveals, he was not born in Nigeria but he spent most of his growing years in Ibadan Nigeria, attended the Prestigious institution, University of Ibadan where he graduated after earning a degree in Sociology.
Talking about his career in broadcast, he has been a broadcaster for over 15 years. When he was asked about his career as a broadcaster, he once said “It’s not a job anymore, it’s a way of life. Put a microphone in front of me and I’ll start talking. Broadcasting is what I do.”
Ifedayo Olarinde, started off with a brief three month stint with Radio Galaxia, Romania while on holiday there in 1996, after which he returned to Nigeria, went for an audition and got a job with BCOS Ibadan where he worked for 5years.
Freeze joined the Cool family in 2001 as a broadcaster and production officer.
He has hosted several Music and comedy shows, game shows, live television Broadcasts and Nollywood premieres in Nigeria, Ghana, London and Manchester which include ; Basket Mouth uncensored and D’banj Entertainer Album Launch Lagos, Yes records launch Ghana, TEE A live in London 2007 and Naija Comedy Blast London & Manchester 2006 Julius Agwu’s “Crack ya Ribs”, London2009, A.Y live Lagos 2011, “Coca-Cola Mega millions”, Multilinks and more
In 2011 Freeze along with KC of KCPresh and Paul Play Dairo were the three judges on the prestigious talent hunt show Star Quest.
Daddy Freeze is not recognise here alone in Nigeria but globally as he won the 2014 award for “Favourite Nigerian On-Air Personality” at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2014 which held in Los Angeles. He has also been nominated for other numerous awards.
He is currently married to his beautiful wife and he is a dad to two lovely kids.
