Back in early 90s, comedy was not regarded as a profession capable enough to put food on the table. But today, while you watch, listen and laugh over these top and influential Naija comedians' joke, there accounts increases. Incase you dont know, here are Top and Most influential Naija comedians

Ali Baba
Christened Atunyota Alleluya Akporobomerere  popularly known as Ali Baba was born in Warri, Delta State to the Royal Family of Agbarha Otor, Ughelli North Local Government Area, on  24th of june 1965. He is the first son after several  girls. Ali  Baba  spent the first 8 years of his life in Warri.
After acquiring a degree from the then Bendel State University, Ekpoma in 1990, he relocated to Lagos, having discovered his comic talent and funny trait in his 3rd Year in University.
He began his professional career with corporate events, appearing on television shows with the likes of Patrick Doyle, Charly Boy and Danladi Bako. He also made cameo appearances on radio shows with Bisi Olatilo, Sani Irabor and Mani Onumonmu. He has also worked briefly with Dapo Adelegan of DP Lekki Limited as executive assistant in 1991.. 
Ali Baba  has been a professional stand up comedian for the past 22 years and has in the last 13 years received several awards .
He is a serious  businessman and has  acquired a home  worth of  over N300 million in Lekky . He can be referred  to as the most influential Nigerian Comedian as he is fondly called 'the ancestor of comedy' because of the huge influence he has had in the life of comedians and the comedy industry as a whole.  His appearance fee stands between N4 to N5 million per event. 


JULIUS AGWU
Julius Agwu, born in April 1973  to Chief Auguestine Amadi Agwu and Mary Agwu in Port- Harcourt, Nigeria is one of Nigeria top comedian, an actor and a musician. 
As his name sounds, he is a Julius. He is  rated among top five successful comedian in nigeria today, his talent has granted him opportunities to dine with kings, as his book, "Jokes Apart" fetched him N20 million. A humor investor, Julius is the CEO of Real Laff entertainment, organizers of 'Crack Your Ribs' and 'Laugh for Christ Sake', events that drop nothing less than N140 million in his account annually


Francis Agoda
Francis Agoda also known as 'I Go Dye' was born in April 4th 1979. He is a Nigerian comedian from Delta State, Nigeria who has organized different shows, such as "Igodye Standing", across the globe
His creative abilities manifested  back in the days, when he invented a flying helicopter, a hover craft ship, a radio transmitter and a battery table fan, which earned him a scholarship to study structural engineering at university in New York. An offer which he declined. 
I Go Dye’s career as a comedian  began in 1991, when he was just 13 years old in Delta State Television (DTC). As at then, comedy was not regarded  as a means to achieving livelihood and  comedians in general were not earning as expected. But, he kept his passion moving. Later, he became a member of  the Press Literary Art Drama Debating Society (PLADDS), after which he became the Programme Director. His membership of the organization was a source of strength to his comedy skills.
Currently, He’s a UN ambassador, a consummate businessman, he owns Franstel Bottle water and he is the  CEO of  Revamp Construction. Revamp is a construction company that deals in real estate, property and road construction. 


Ayodeji Richard Makun
Popularly known as  AY, he's an indigine of Ondo State. AY, is the producer of the movie ”30 Days in Atlanta” which was directed by Robert Peters. He is also a multi-award winning Nigerian actor, comedian, radio and T.V presenter, writer, director and Compere. He is the host of the AY live shows and AY comedy skits. He was made a U.N Peace Ambassador in 2009 after winning six awards in 2008. He is the C.E.O of Corporate World Entertainment Nigeria.
Ayodeji Makun’s  career started  after being Alibaba's Personal Assistant and Event Manager. AY also wrote going "AY wire" as a guest columnist in The Sun (Nigeria) and Gbenga Adeyinka's "Laff Mattaz". Record reveals that  his annual show,  AY Live annual show fetches him about  N160 million and has worthwhile properties in his possession.

Basketmouth
Bright Okpocha known by his stage name Basketmouth, was born on 14th September 1978. He is a Nigerian comedian and an actor. He has organized  comedy shows such as; popular stand-up comedy concerts like Basketmouth Uncensored across the globe 
This Lagos born comedian, completed his primary and secondary school education in Apapa, Lagos State and then moved on to pursue a degree at the University of Benin where he studied Sociology and Anthropology 
In 2005 and 2006 Basketmouth won the National Comedy Award and the awards for Best Stand-up Comedian of the Year.
